Emmanuel earned his  Bachelor of Science in Chemistry degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. His research centers on Photopharmacology and Optogenetics. He is currently exploring the synthesis of photoswitchable-tethered ligands as potential potassium channel modulators.
